Skip-count by Twos

Counting like a bunny - hop, hop, hop over numbers!

What is Skip-counting by Twos?

Skip-counting is counting while skipping some numbers in between!
When we count by twos, we say every other number: 2, 4, 6, 8, and so on. It's like counting pairs of things - shoes, socks, eyes, or bunny hops!

How to Count by Twos

1️⃣ Start at 0 (or 2 if you prefer)

2️⃣ Add 2 each time: 0 + 2 = 2, 2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 2 = 6

3️⃣ Keep going as high as you can!

Let's Practice Together!

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Make it physical: Have your child hop, jump, or clap while counting by twos to reinforce the rhythm of skip-counting.
  • Use everyday objects: Count pairs of shoes, socks, gloves, or eyes on stuffed animals to make it concrete.
  • Sing a song: Create a simple counting-by-twos song or chant to make learning more memorable and fun.
